Remo D’Souza gears up for next dance film; Is ‘ABCD 3’ in making? |


Remo D’Souza launched dance films with 2013’s ABCD (Rs. 5.5 cr open), followed by hit ABCD 2. Now crafting ABCD 3 with fresh Gen Z vision, producer Amit Chandra—reviving original characters after Be Happy (2025).

Remo D’Souza started the dance film trend in 2013 with ‘ABCD – Any Body Can Dance’. Without any big stars, it still opened at Rs. 5.50 crores, competing with Akshay Kumar‘s ‘Special 26’. The 2015 sequel ‘ABCD 2’, featuring Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor, became a huge success, topping Rs. 100 crores. As per the reports, now, Remo has begun a new dance film, possibly ‘ABCD 3’.

According to Bollywood Hungama, it’ll be produced by Amit Chandrra of Trigger Happy Studios. Remo and his team have cracked a great idea for the film. They are now working on the screenplay. Remo is fully aware that a lot has changed since the last time he attempted a dance film in terms of audience consumption, exposure to various dance forms, etc. He has kept those changes and Gen Z and Gen Alpha audiences in mind while envisioning his upcoming venture.

Meanwhile, reports say it may continue the first ‘ABCD’. The characters from ‘ABCD – Any Body Can Dance’ are set to come back in Remo’s next movie.

Remo D’Souza began in the industry as a choreographer and made his directorial debut with the Bengali film ‘Lal Pahare’r Katha’ (2007). His first Hindi film as director was ‘F.A.L.T.U.’ (2011), followed by ‘ABCD – Any Body Can Dance’ and ‘ABCD 2’. He later helmed ‘A Flying Jatt’ (2016), ‘Race 3’ (2018), and ‘Street Dancer 3D’ (2020). Last year, his dance movie ‘Be Happy’ (2025) dropped on Amazon Prime Video.
