Kawasaki India has updated the KLX 230 range of motorcycles in the Indian market for the 2027 model year. The company has also introduced the new KLX230 S variant. With this addition, the KLX230 range now includes three models – the standard KLX230, the new KLX230 S and the off-road-only KLX230R S. Interested customers can book the updated motorcycles online or by visiting their nearest dealership. The KLX 230 will continue to be offered with two colour options – Lime Green and Battle Grey.

The KLX230R S is now priced at Rs 1.89 lakh, while both the KLX230 and the newly introduced KLX230 S retail at Rs 2.19 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). The standard KLX230 has received a significant price increase, rising from Rs 1.84 lakh to Rs 2.19 lakh, whereas the KLX230R S is now Rs 10,000 more expensive than before. Deliveries of the KLX230R S are scheduled to begin in mid-August 2026, with the KLX230 and KLX230 S set to reach customers from mid-September.The newly introduced KLX230 S shares its engine and mechanical package with the standard KLX230 but is designed with a lower seat height. At 830 mm, its seat sits 50 mm lower than the 880 mm unit on the standard model. To achieve this, Kawasaki has reduced suspension travel to 160 mm at the front and 163 mm at the rear, compared to 220 mm and 223 mm, respectively, on the KLX230. Ground clearance has also been lowered from 255 mm to 220 mm.

Positioned as the most off-road-oriented model in the range, the KLX230R S omits road-legal equipment such as the headlamp in favour of a more focused off-road setup. It features a taller 900 mm seat height along with 270 mm of ground clearance. Powering the entire 2027 KLX230 range is a 233cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that develops 19 hp at 7,800 rpm and 19 Nm of torque at 6,200 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox across all three models.
