The world’s highest ATM is located at Khunjerab Pass, a high-altitude mountain pass on the border between Pakistan and China. The ATM is situated at an elevation of about 4, 693 meters (15, 397) above the sea level.
The ATM stands at an altitude of approximately 4,693 metres above sea level, making it the highest operational ATM in the world. At this elevation, the oxygen level is significantly lower and weather conditions can be extremely harsh.

Despite the challenges, the ATM continues to function and serve travellers and staff in the region. It was installed to support tourists, border security personnel, and traders who travel through the region.
Khunjerab Pass is part of the famous Karakoram Highway, one of the highest paved international roads in the world. Since travellers and workers often pass through this route, the ATM provides convenient banking access in an otherwise isolated area.
