Actor Ajith Kumar is preparing for his next big film, ‘AK64,’ which is expected to be directed by Adhik Ravichandran. However, it seems like the project has been delayed due to some unavoidable situations. The film was initially planned to begin shooting in February, but the team has not provided any official update so far. Therefore, the silence has led to several rumors on social media. Many reports claimed that director Adhik Ravichandran had been replaced by Ajith’s longtime collaborator Siva, creating uncertainty among fans.
Suresh Chandraa confirms ‘AK64’ director
Now, Ajith’s manager, Suresh Chandraa, has come forward to clear the air in a chat with Cinema Express. “Reports about a director change are completely false. Adhik Ravichandran is still the director of ‘AK64,’ and there is no change in the team. The project is moving ahead as planned,” said Suresh Chandraa. Suresh Chandraa’s statement made it clear that there is no change in the film’s direction team, and the project is moving ahead as planned.
Adhik Ravichandran promises an action entertainer
Earlier, Adhik Ravichandran had also shared some details about the film. He said that while his previous film, ‘Good Bad Ugly,’ was made mainly for Ajith’s fans, ‘AK64’ will be different. He explained that the new film will be a proper action entertainer with a strong story. It will not just target fans but will also attract family audiences. This has raised expectations, as fans hope to see a balanced film with both mass appeal and emotional depth.
‘AK64’ plans move forward
Meanwhile, Ajith Kumar has been busy with his car racing commitments. He has been travelling abroad for races and recently returned to Chennai. Reports indicate he’ll compete in races consistently through 2027. Even with this packed calendar, he’s reportedly planning to juggle both racing and film work. Discussions are underway regarding future collaborations with directors such as Siva and Venkat Prabhu, though ‘AK64’ with Adhik Ravichandran is the only project officially confirmed at this time.
