Recently, ‘Saiyaara’ star Aneet Padda’s sister, Reet Padda, has made headlines after her comments about ‘Dhurandhar 2.’ Following the film’s release, Reet took to her account and called out the film for its “propaganda.” Soon after her post about the movie went viral, she began receiving a lot of hate and criticism online. Here is all you need to know about who Reet Padda is.
Who is Reet Padda
Reet Padda, unlike her sister Aneet, keeps away from the limelight and the glitzy world of Bollywood, and instead works as a customer success manager based in Paris. Her LinkedIn profile describes her as a marketing specialist who has extensive experience in things like campaign strategy, market research, and client relations.
At the time she posted her views about ‘Dhurandhar’ along with many other films, including ‘Kashmir Files’ and ‘The Kerala Story’, Reet had around 6.7K followers. However, after facing major backlash online, she ended up turning her online account private. At the time of writing, almost all of her accounts are no longer available online.
What happened with Reet Padda and her comments about ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’
Recently, Reet Padda took to her social media handle to reply to a comment about ‘Dhurandhar.’ In her comment, she talked about the film, along with ‘The Kerala Story’ and ‘Kashmir Files’, and called them “propaganda.” She further added, “First, about calling films like The Kashmir Files, The Kerala Story, and Dhurandhar propaganda. Dhurandhar functions as a government-friendly narrative, using political speeches to justify events like demonetization. Is it propaganda? Yes. Can I deny it? No.”Not only that, but she also criticized ‘The Bluff’ actress Priyanka Chopra for not using her voice and platform for the Palestinian people. She added in her comment, “Priyanka had an opportunity to oppose an illegal war while standing next to someone who took a stand, but she couldn’t even clap. If my sister were in that position, I’d hope she rises to the occasion. If she doesn’t, I’ll be the first to call her out.”Padda was specifically referring to Chopra’s moment at the 2026 Oscars, when she stood beside co-presenter Javier Bardem. While the actor proudly shouted “Free Palestine,” the actress could be seen smiling on stage while keeping quiet. This had caused the star to face a lot of backlash online at the time.
