The upcoming web series ‘Muthu Engira Kaattaan’, aka ‘Kaattaan’, directed by Manikandan of ‘Kaaka Muttai’ fame, is set to release on a popular digital platform. Actor Vijay Sethupathi plays a key role in the series. During the team press meet in Chennai, Vijay Sethupathi’s speech was the highlight. He shared many unfiltered, genuine emotions about his past experiences and the web series itself.
Vijay Sethupathi on confidence, struggles, and belief from others
Sharing his thoughts on stage during his speech, Vijay Sethupathi stated that he lacked self-confidence in the initial phase of his career. As per Nakkheeran, he said, “I never had much confidence in myself… only after others appreciated my work did I realise I could do it.” He added that many people believed in him before he believed in himself. “It is surprising when others trust you even before you trust yourself,” he shared. He thanked directors like Manikandan and others who supported him throughout his journey.

Talking about ‘Kaattaan,’ Vijay Sethupathi said the journey behind the series itself could become a separate story. “If we show what happened behind this series, it could become two or three parts,” he said. He also spoke about his connection with people in the industry and how opportunities came unexpectedly. He recalled how he was convinced to take up projects even when he was unsure. His speech showed his humble nature and gratitude towards those who helped him grow.

Towards the end, Vijay Sethupathi spoke in a lighter tone about co-star Parvathy. He joked, “For Parvathy and me, it never works… I got tired of talking to her every week.” However, he quickly added that audiences will like her performance after watching the series. He also appreciated the entire cast and crew for their effort. He concluded his speech on a humorous and jocular note, filled with very funny and sincere appreciation for the ‘Kaattaan’ unit.
