‘Jai Shree Ram’ chanted fans as the first glimpse of ‘Ramayana‘, titled ‘Rama’, debuted online amid much hype and anticipation. Living up to all the buzz in the days leading up to its release on Hanuman Jayanti, this trailer is nothing short of a visual spectacle.The clip was released online on the film’s official handle with the caption, “Rama is the greatest of all time because he lived a life where the choices he made were always in the benefit of the greater good, duty over desire, and sacrifice over self.His legacy continues to enhance and empower humanity over time and bring the belief in the goodness of the human spirit to resolve all conflict and bring peace to the world.”The clip gives fans a tease of the action, adventure, characters, creatures and some epic battle scenes set to unfold on the big screens this Diwali. Amid the stunning visuals, the trailer featured the message that read, “Whenever the world descengs into chaos, He is always the answer. Ruling our hearts for over 5000 years, our protector, our hero, the legend. We celebrate the greatest of all time Maryadam Purshotom Rama.”The highlight, however, is the long-awaited reveal of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama. The clip offers different glimpses of Rama’s journey through various moments in his life as both a warrior and King, seen in his royal robes and adorned in gold jewellery.

The 2-minute-38-second glimpse gives fans enough time to take viewers on a journey with Lord Rama through Ayodhya, his exile, and some battles as he takes on demons and giants.The trailer was unveiled after a global rollout that included previews in Los Angeles and New York, where early reactions praised its scale and ambition. Kapoor himself described Lord Rama as “the conscience keeper of billions of people around the globe for centuries,” adding that the character “stands for compassion, courage, righteousness, and forgiveness.”

The excitement was amplified by Alia Bhatt, shared in a fan interaction, “Ramayana unit is going to be out tomorrow… I’m going to be posting it on my social media, so again, please go out there and support it,” she had said ahead of the release. Calling the teaser “absolutely fabulous,” she added, “I think Ranbir has just done such a beautiful job… It’s just out of this world.”The film that also stars Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman.’Ramayana’ is slated to release in two parts with the first release on Diwali 2026 and the Part 2 slated for release on Diwali 2027.
