Jennifer Lopez turned an awkward fan moment into a sharp joke during her Las Vegas residency when a man she invited onstage revealed that his name was Ben. The singer and actress laughed off the moment with a playful reaction that quickly grabbed attention online, especially given her recent divorce from Ben Affleck. A video shared from the weekend show captured Lopez joking with the crowd, reacting to a fan’s name, and then moving the bit along as part of the performance.

Page Six reported the exchange, while DeuxMoi shared video footage of the onstage interaction. According to the report, Lopez called an audience member up to join her and her backup dancers during the show. As he approached, she joked, “Look at this guy,” then added, “We gonna take him for everything he’s got.” When Lopez asked his name, the fan said into the microphone that his name was Ben. Lopez answered with a quick “Ugh!” and a sour face before laughing and ushering him behind the curtain.
Jennifer Lopez’s divorce comments and Ben Affleck’s context
The moment landed because Lopez has spoken openly in recent months about her personal life and her divorces. Earlier this month, she also joked onstage about her split from Marc Anthony during the same Las Vegas residency. “After my third divorce, that’s when I really started getting good at it,” Lopez said, before adding, “Seriously, that’s not funny,” and admitting that “it was actually a really tough time.”Lopez and Affleck first dated from 2002 to 2004 before reconnecting in April 2021. They married in 2022, and by August 2024, Lopez had filed for divorce. In an October 2024 conversation with Nikki Glaser for Interview Magazine, Lopez said she did not regret the breakup. “Not one second,” she said. “That doesn’t mean it didn’t almost take me out for good. It almost did.”More recently, Lopez described a happier chapter in her life in a teaser for her ‘Nightline’ interview, which aired on ‘Good Morning America’ in March. “I think, for the first time in my life, I feel like I’m free; I’m on my own. And it feels really good,” she said. She also shared that she took “a year off from work” to heal and said she now trusts and appreciates herself more.
