In a candid interview, the actress, known for her breakout role in ‘Sacred Games’ and her recent appearance in ‘Son of Sardaar 2,’ pushed back against the growing culture of altering one’s appearance to meet unrealistic beauty benchmarks.
Kubbra Sait on unrealistic body standards
In an interview with IANS, Kubbra Sait was asked if she thinks social media pressure on actors regarding body standards is becoming dangerous. To which she said, “I think we often blame the medium for our insecurities. But the real question is, why are we insecure in the first place? If you believe in yourself, no platform can make you feel insecure. I personally choose not to alter my appearance beyond basic fitness—that’s my choice. But if someone else chooses differently, that’s their decision.”The actress went on to say, “We need to stop judging others and focus on our own lives. Security or insecurity comes from within, not from social media.”
Kubbra Sait reflects on her journey in the industry
During the same conversation, Kubbra Sait was asked how she has evolved as an actor since starting in 2010. The actress responded, “When you get a chance, it’s important not to lose it, because that’s where your growth lies. For me, consistency, discipline, and excitement have been constant. There was always this clarity within me—’mujhe yeh karna hi hai.'”The actress added that before becoming an actress, she had a “well-paying job abroad and was doing well professionally.” Kubbra shared that she kept asking herself, “Was I truly happy?”She said, “When I came here, my journey made sense. When you work consistently in something that gives you joy, your journey naturally progresses, one step at a time.”The actress further stated that the people she has worked with have always inspired her and given her courage. She concluded, “Honestly, the results I’ve received are far beyond my imagination. I feel very grateful.”

On the work front, the actress was last seen in the Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur starrer ‘Son of Sardaar 2’. She will next feature in David Dhawan’s ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’, featuring Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde. The movie is slated to arrive in cinemas in June this year.
